Concerto for Trombone piano reduction available!
Just over three years ago, Joseph Alessi and Jerry Junkin premiered my Concerto for Trombone in back to back concerts with the Dallas Winds and the University of Texas Wind Ensemble. It was a hell of an experience, and included perhaps the most extensive on-the-fly revisions in final rehearsals I’ve ever experienced. I even rewrote the ending on the plane from a Dallas Winds rehearsal to the UT rehearsal, sitting right in front of Joe and Jerry and discussing the revision in flight. It all seemed to work out just fine. 🙂
Now the piano reduction is finally available thanks to the arranging/reducing skills of the inimitable Liz Ames (you might know her from such hits as the reduction of my Sax Concerto and the reductions of several of John Mackey’s works). The purchase includes both the piano score and the same solo trombone part that comes with the rented set.
You can order it here (PDF only at present), as well as watch a video of the premiere!
