Radiant Joy…
… is finished. Still some tweaks remaining to the score, and then there’s the matter of making parts. The music, however, is finished, and it’s a little different for me. Shiny. Happy. Joyous, even. 🙂
Premiere is set for October 17th 15th, by Jack Stamp and the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Wind Ensemble. They’ll also be recording it in the Spring at some point.
I’ve moved into my rather spacious house in Bowling Green, OH, and begun my residency here. I have an excellent space for my studio:
We’re off to a good start, so far – the New Music Ensemble, under director Ken Thompson, is doing Rise for sax quartet in November, and the WInd Ensemble is doing RedLine at the New Music and Arts Festival in October (the festival also features fellow BCM member Jonathan Newman in attendance, for a performance of his string quartet, Wapwallopen). If you’re in the northwest Ohio or southeast Michigan area, you should consider coming to the festival!
Lots more in the works, including several upcoming performances, a guest composer/interview on the BCM forum, and news about the commercial release of Loose Id for Orchestra on Albany Records by the BGSU Philharmonia.
