This Duet started as an exercise in writing patient, unadorned music that allows the performer leeway for interpretation. This original version is for two Cellos, and this version is adapted for multiple combinations of two brass instruments.

• Part I: Trumpet in Bb, Horn in F, Euphonium, or Trombone
• Part II: Horn in F, Euphonium, Trombone, or Tuba. There are ossia octave transpositions in Part II that make that part work more easily for any of those instruments.

There are also other versions for many other instrument combinations.
