sevenfive was commissioned by the Gaudete Brass Quintet, and premiered in April, 2013 as part of their concert celebrating John Corigliano’s 75th birthday.

I chose to use rhythmic groupings of 7 and 5, as well as 7ths resolving to 5ths as the source material for this short, energetic work – a tribute to my composition teacher and friend.
