The all-volunteer Hamden Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Vesna Mehinovic, will commence its 64th season of performances with “a pale blue dot – music of our shared humanity” on Friday, November 21st at 7:30 PM at Hamden Memorial Town Hall. In a moment of unprecedented technological advancement and social change, this program of music dating from the 18th century all the way to our current millennium will explore both the complexities of life on earth, and the concurrent evolution of society and its art; from the simple elegance of the Baroque musicians, who staked the foundations for musical forms and the earliest ensembles, to the primal emotion of the Romantic-era that would advance the modern orchestra into the 20th and 21st centuries. This program offers a timestamp of where we are, and hope for a future that continues to be grounded in humanity and music.
