The Department of Music is proud to present an evening of unique and contemporary wind band music that explores humanity’s deep connection to the world around us, our connection to our musical past, our connection to the unknown and our ever-deepening connection to technology. Featuring TWO premieres: Velocity Meadows by Christopher Stark, a soprano saxophone concerto with TCNJ Saxophone Professor, Kathleen Mitchell and Observer in the Magellanic Cloud by Mason Bates, in a new wind ensemble arrangement by Director of Bands, David Vickerman. The concert closes with Steven Bryant’s epic and award-winning composition for wind ensemble and live electronics, Ecstatic Waters. Special guests, The Eastern Wind Symphony Youth Band, will also perform on the concert.
