In two movements, both based on the same descending 5 dyads. Mvt I opens with a several-minute piano, harp, and vibraphone trio, building slowly while repeating the same descending figure throughout the work. The music then reverses, evaporating away as it began. Mvt. II uses the same material with a nod to Schuman's George Washington Bridge, building bitonal block chords from the original 5 dyads.
Scored for orchestral winds and percussion, the instrumentation fits both symphony orchestras and wind ensembles.
